Government and Change Control

News

Interesting to note that the content of change.gov is now licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported. The licensing means that you can share and remix the content but must provide attribution to its source.

Tim O’Reilly of O’Reilly Media, Inc. Tim thinks change.gov should be put under revision control to track changes. It is thought that by enabling change control we can increase accountability in our government.

Tim Notes:

The real holy grail, of course, would be to provide revision control on all government regulations, and eventually, on legislation.

I think it’s a great idea and one whose time has come.
